Viva La Revolución

January 26th, 2010

ie bug Ok. Enough is enough!

I’ve joined the campaign to end IE6 for quite a while now. My page even showed in black and white if viewed in IE6 (for nostalgic users) but seems a campaign or hundreds of them are not enough to solve this.  Seems you can win this battle with politics and technical arguments. You need a revolution.

So from now on, my site (and any website I will build) will not display to IE6 users.  They don’t need logos advising them to let the web evolve, or hear about the pain of the developers. No! They need brute force. If the web won’t work they must change their browsers. How can we convert those 20% other way ? I say fuck’em!

Join the campaign to end IE6

February 26th, 2009

I just decided to join the End IE6 campaign, so if you’re entering my blog using a IE6 browser chances are you’re gonna see a warning (unless you have javascript disabled, another reason you should get out and play in the corn field) telling you to install a serious browser.

A series of blog plugins and widgets are already available if you want to join the campaign and spread the news on your blog. I recommend this one.

If you want to track the status of this campaign, the norvegians that started this campain have set up a webpage that you can see here

and…join us in doing the right thing. Kill that damn browser.
